The International Garden Festival of Amiens is an unmissable event celebrating landscape art and artistic creativity in the enchanting setting of the Hortillonnages. Discover why this 15th edition, which will be held from May 24 to October 13, 2024, is a must-attend for nature, art, and culture enthusiasts.
The Hortillonnages: A Haven of Nature and Culture
The Baie de Somme, known for its preserved landscapes and biodiversity, transforms every summer into an open-air museum thanks to the International Garden Festival. Located between Lille and Paris, this natural site of over 300 hectares hosts landscape, architectural, and artistic works spread across the Clermont ponds in Camon and Rivery, as well as on the Île aux Fagots in Amiens.
A Poetic and Aesthetic Journey
This year, the festival features 14 new creations, including 7 gardens, 5 artistic installations, and 2 projects from students at the University of Picardie Jules Verne. These works, spread across small islands, form a poetic path inviting contemplation and reflection on the unique environment of the Hortillonnages, its history, and its future. Visitors can discover these treasures on foot or by boat, enjoying a beautiful escape between nature and art.
